Inquest into the Death of Remi Desjardins Announced

Dr. Laura Piccinin, Regional Supervising Coroner, Sudbury Region, Sudbury Office, has announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Remi Desjardins.

Mr. Desjardins, 48 years old, died on February 9, 2022, while working at a surface mine site near Matheson, Ontario. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Desjardins’ death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
