How to start an accident-benefits claim in Ontario

Tell the auto insurer promptly
Accident benefits are usually first-party benefits under the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule, not a lawsuit against the other driver first.
Use the insurer’s forms
OCF-style applications and treatment plans. Incomplete forms delay care.
If the insurer denies
Diary the date on the letter. SABS disputes often go to the Licence Appeal Tribunal, which has its own forms, not Form 14A.
