What to do if a collection agency contacts you in Ontario

1. Ask who is calling and which account

   Request the details in writing. Do not give new banking information on the first call.

2. Collectors have conduct limits

3. If they sue you, the next paper is a court claim

   Small Claims uses Form 7A. Superior Court uses Form 14A. Respond with the matching defence form. A demand letter is not a judgment.
