How to ask for time to pay a POA fine
This page is a public educational walkthrough. It is not a retainer, a court form, or a promise about your result. For legal advice, you should contact an appropriate Lawyer or Paralegal specializing in the area of law you need assistance with.
Confirm a fine has actually been imposed
Time-to-pay is not the same as disputing the ticket. If you have not yet chosen pay or dispute, go back to the offence notice.
Use the current Form 125
The form is on Ontario Court Forms under the POA court-procedure set, linked from this site. Fill the offence number and the amount you can pay and when.
File it with the court office named on the ticket or order
Keep a stamped copy or email confirmation.
Licence and collection issues can continue until the court changes the terms
Filing the form does not automatically stop every consequence that same afternoon.
If the request is refused, read the endorsement
You may still be able to pay as ordered. Ignoring the fine is how default convictions and collections start.
